Ferrari Roma Spider: Contemporary Carefree Convertible

With a top speed of 198mph, the Ferrari Roma Spider is the perfect ride for out of town weekends to the shore with the signature Ferrari V8 twin turbo soundtrack playing in the background. This contemporary take on the carefree mid-century Italian aesthetic races from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, making your great escape from reality possible.

The Ferrari Roma Spider boasts a best-in-class weight/power ratio thanks to the sophisticated fabric soft top and all-aluminum chassis. The striking adoption of an automatic soft top is a first for Ferrari in 54 years. The revival of this feature allows both the elegant and sporty twin souls of the Ferrari Roma Spider to shine. Two rear seats and category-topping boot size makes the Ferrari Roma Spider incredibly versatile while maintaining the same driving thrills and handling precision of its coupé predecessor.

Designed with Ferrari’s own Flavio Manzoni at the helm, this 2+ Spider has been shaped by the wind. The starting point for the aerodynamic development of the Ferrari Roma Spider was the soft top, which stows away in a mere 13.5 seconds, at up to a maximum speed of 60mph. An overhanging front creates a sharknose effect that commands a striking elegance from the front. Engine cooling is optimized from the new grille which flows into two linear LED headlights. The rear remains sleek even with the roof stowed in the category-topping boot.

With a maximum speed of 198 mph, the Ferrari Roma Spider also boasts best in class weight/power ratios. The “International Engine of the Year” is coupled with Ferrari’s 8-speed DCT known for its incredibly fast shift times as well as excellent standards of comfort and mechanical efficiency. The soft top mechanism is ultra light, yet resilient and the Z-shaped movement quickly folds the roof away. When deployed, the five-layer fabric dampens wind and road noise even at high speeds. During development, special attention was also paid to reducing the ballooning effect typical of soft tops.

The Ferrari Roma Spider was designed with driver and passenger comforts at the forefront. A new, patented wind deflector was integrated into the rear backrest and with a click of a button can be deployed to guarantee exceptional in-car occupant comfort. The dual cockpit concept was achieved by extending the philosophy of a driver’s dashboard throughout the entire cabin for all passengers. Long drives are possible without sacrificing comfort thanks to the 8-way-adjustable heated ergonomic seats that are also available with an optional neck warmer for colder days.
